  • Highlight some common pitfalls in promotion (recruitment) process of managers and leaders such as unconscious bias (norms and values associated with supposed qualities of men and women), and the role of informal networks

  • Raise awareness about existing tools and how to get better gender balance in your unit

Professor in science and technology studies, Norwegian University of Science and Technology

Vivian Anette Lagesen is a sociologist, professor in Science and Technology Studies and have published widely on gender, science and technology, and particularly on gender balance and inclusion of women to academia. Previous research includes learning and management of knowledge in software engineering, urban planning and consultant engineering. Her current research is on epistemic living spaces among university academics.
