Lia worked passionately in several international, multi-stakeholder, interdisciplinary, cross-institutional projects with the aim of enhancing Diversity & Inclusion in academia.
Since 2019 she is also part of the core team building up a gender-sensitive career center for early career researcher at DESY.

=> Lia was part of the overall coordination team in the Horizon 2020 project GENERA (2015 â 2018) aiming to improve Gender Equality within the European Research Area. GENERA had a field-specific approach focussing on the implementing of GEPs in the European physics community.
=> She was also involved in the European Project ACT supporting âCommunities of Practicesâ for institutional change on gender equality in ERA. Lia served as a Community of Practice facilitator for the GENERA Network (2018 - dato) and led a Work Package in the ACT Project.
=> Prior to that Lia Lang was involved in studies on women in the field of science and industry at the Fraunhofer Center for Responsible Research and Innovation.
=> Additionally, she is enjoys working as a consultant for early career development and is teaching at the Humboldt-University Berlin, at Center for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies. Lia is a "hands-on we-can-do-it" person who enjoys direct contact with students, researches and changes agents to empower them to make a change.
She is based in Berlin and Hamburg (Germany) at a Research Centre of the Helmholtz Assoziation. The Research Center DESY is one of the worldâs leading accelerator centres supporting especially basic research in physics.

Lia Lang studied in Munich, Stockholm and Berlin and holds a master degree in gender studies from the Humboldt University. She is a certificated Career Coach from artop, Humboldt University of Berlin (2020 - 2021).
