Cláudia Araújo is a part of the SUPERA team at the Centre for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra, and a PhD candidate in Citizenship and Human Rights at the University of Barcelona, researching the relationship between securitisation of protest and democratic erosion. She holds a Master's degree in Migration from the Nova University of Lisbon. She acts as a liaison point for Portugal and Greece for the Varieties of Democracy project and has been involved in other research projects on civil society and democracy.
